14 Jan 2009 Free Credit Report Is a Headache

It has been a while since my last post. I have had some bumps of my own. Causing a great delay in my quest to repair my credit.

First of all, I have as of today to see my credit reports. I did request them. I requested my Free Copy. I had some issues with the credit card companies to due the Fraud Alert I had placed several years ago.

Anyhow, I finally did visit FreeCreditReport.com, that was a disaster. I am not pleased. I obtained one Copy, then they charged my Bank Card to sell all three. Again, as of today, I have not seen all three.

Finally, I have just applied for a Visa and yes, it was rejected. However, I get a Free Credit Report from the reporting Agencies.

This is frustrating, to say the least. My goal is to buy my home this year. I am determined to purchase my very own home. I of course need to find a lender willing to sign me a mortgage. I know the property I want.

Another frustration, I have contacted several Realtors’ and Lenders to guide or provide me with the guidelines the banks are looking for. I know taxes, bank statements and form of income are required.

After, getting a glance at the Free Credit report, my FICO score reads 550! Is that low or what!?

I have learned a lot about negotiating down the interest rate and asking about Credit Card incentives. Considering I do not have any credit cards, I have recruited my Dad. I will call on his behalf and see if this tips actually work.

If you have any suggestions, I would most appreciate it .

07 Oct 2008 Help Remove Tax Lien From Credit Report

This blog has a life of its own. Sure, I understand how important credit score is to an individual. As I stated previously, I woke up one day to realize I had no Credit History. I do have my own business and a business I run with my husband. Now, all the credit for the Company is under the Corporation. We do not sign any Personal Guarantee.

Alright, so I was talking to a friend about my new blog. OMG… she needs help! She recently received a notice from the IRS, she apparently has had a lien against her for the some time now. At least 3 years. So the questions is, call the IRS or mail them? How can she get this removed? Why wasn’t she informed about this? Why…why…why…

Okay, on Wednesday we will meet and contact the IRS together. This will be great research for me.

05 Oct 2008 Time To Clean Up My Credit

Recently I decided that it is time for me to face the UGLY in my life. My UGLY credit report. Its like waking up and saying time to lose weight.

I have noticed that your Credit Report indeed reflects a lot about you as a person. Just as having a weight issue. I want my life o reflect order and love.

So, on Monday I decided to hit the internet and search for information on how to repair my credit. The biggest question was where do I start. Then HOW and Can this possibly be done. With the current economic state of our Country lenders are being more stringent and it is said that people with 700+ FICO scores will have a hard time getting a loan as well.

Alright, I know I can do this. So I started doing more research and applying for Credit Cards to rebuild your credit. DENIED! Of course they kindly let you down, but nonetheless I was DENIED. I was also surprised to have been denied for a Checking Account with Wells Fargo. I do have two checking accounts in good standing; so that I will have to investigate.

So, I bit about my past credit. I have not had ANY credit cards for 7 years. I have not purchased a car or home, not even a utility bill is under my name. Nothing! I married and all of it is under his name. All bill paid etc… I allowed myself to fall into a comfort zone. Not too long ago, he experienced some financial problems with his company. That total scared me. How can I help if I do not have any credit history? Total SOL…

Well, like I said, this is going to be interesting. I do not want to pay for Attorneys or Credit Agencies removing anything in my credit report that I can possibly do myself.

The following are the 3 steps I will take this week to Help My Poor Credit this week

1)     Get copy of Credit Report from the 3 Agencies

2)     Get my FICO Score

3)     Research on how I can accomplish my goals

My Goals

a)    Have a Wells Fargo Checking account

b)    Department Store Credit Cards /American Express

c)    BUY MY OWN HOME in ONE YEAR or less

So let the fun being. If you have any tips please send them in I will look into them and report to you my progress.

Now, let me make one thing clear. I do not want to get in debt. Nope, but I want to be able to have the credit available to me if I wish to use it. Now the mortgage is a whole other scenario. I will be searching for MY dream home.
